Bio

Let's see. About me. Well, the name's Laura Ashley (and yes, I'm serious, the parental units named me that for real, though it was before the preppy designer went huge so cut them some slack). I really don't like being called "Laura Ashley" or "Laura" so please, go with Ashley. The full name sounds too Gone with the Wind for my taste and Laura is the name of my grandmother and great-grandmother. Another Laura in the family is too confusing. I'm twenty-seven years old. I graduated in 2002 from the illustrious and wonderful UNC-CH (that's the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for those not in the know...the oldest public university in the United States). I majored in English and Anthropology and loved every second of it. I went to law school at Michigan State University's Detroit College of Law (though I withdrew after 18 months because I'm not sure if that was what I really wanted). I'm currently a paralegal for a small office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Who knows what I'm really going to do with my life. I'm trying to take the time to figure out what I really want and considering that I over-analyze and plan my life to the last detail, it's hard for me to just float while I do that. I'm a southern girl at heart and I really think NC is my home and the place for me. I was raised on an honest to god farm complete with crops, tractors, pigs and cows (though no chickens...everyone asks if there were chickens). I'm single and live alone with my dogs, Bandit and Pippin, who were both very aptly named. I'm entirely too wrapped-up in fandoms and get picked on it quite a lot. But whatever, everyone's geeky about something. I'm just geeky about harry potter, roswell and too many other tv-shows/books to list. And honestly, that's about it when it comes to me.
